One uniform form for direct trade

From 1 October 2023, all buyers for direct trade through Floriday will see the same delivery form. This applies to all Royal FloraHolland locations. With this, we are working towards a single standard for the floriculture sector.

In 2008, several flower auctions merged to form Royal FloraHolland. Since then, the ambition has already been to unify the forms. Before the merger, all auctions worked with different forms and different types of barcodes per auction. A multitude of various forms for the auctions, carriers and buyers emerged. Each software package generated its own form and different requirements arose from users. Unifying this form had a considerable impact on the whole chain, making it a challenge so far.

Because the forms are generated in Floriday, we as an industry had the opportunity to be able to work with one uniform form, equipped with one unique barcode, without modifications in growers' software packages. In the design of the unified form, we directly incorporated industry requests, such as the possibility of including more than five lots on one form. As a result, with the right setting, only one form per cart needs to be printed instead of multiple forms. With these changes, all buyers will receive the same form for direct trade from 1 October.

Paper savings thanks to new form

Every buyer will now receive the new layout. Depending on the buyer's trade setting, the form contains up to 5 or up to 16 lots on a form. By activating the trade setting for the new form, you can save a huge amount of paper. Because 16 lots can be shown on the form after activation, we as an industry end up saving up to 659,142 forms a year!

Not every software package can handle 16 lots on one form, hence this is a setting that a buyer can turn on himself.

As a buyer, do you also want to contribute to less paper consumption?

In this Helpcenter article, you will find more information on how to ensure that you will also see 16 instead of 5 lots on the form from now on.
