This year, Floriday is being expanded to include new functions for buyers. For buyers, the ability to search for trade items in growers’ catalogues easily is an important factor that enables them to do business effectively online. That ability is necessary so that buyers can put together an assortment and submit the order right away. Last year, Floriday started developing a digital catalogue and that development is set to continue during 2022. In this news report, we are giving you an update about the functionalities that will be available in the future.

Discussions with buyers have shown that the ability to search growers’ catalogues is mainly used as a means of putting together an assortment and submitting the order right away. The ‘Catalog’ is thereby being renamed and will become an ‘Explorer’. The Explorer will consist of two components; in the near future, you will be able to search in all trade items (Trade item explorer) and in direct trade (direct explorer).

‘Trade item explorer’

In the ‘Trade item explorer’, you will be able to search for new growers and products when putting together your assortment. During that process, you will find trade items you can use to create (retail) contracts, stock your webshop or create table plans.

As a buyer, extensive filtering options make selecting the right trade items and stocking your webshop easy. The assortment management facility also allows you to amend the trade item information if desired. From inside the ‘Trade item explorer’, you will be able to issue a quotation right away or submit an enquiry for purposes such as creating a table plan. What is more, the ‘Trade item explorer’ will include the facility to search by topic. For example, you can search for ‘Valentine’s Day’ and can then add the trade items you require under that topic to the quotation to be sent to your customer.

The ‘Trade item explorer’ is being developed first and is currently undergoing testing by a group of buyers. Based on the feedback provided, this function will undergo further optimization, before being made available to a larger group of buyers in the first quarter of 2022.

‘Direct explorer’

The next phase is the development of the ‘Direct explorer’. The ’Direct explorer’ will allow you to search the Floriculture catalog and order from the supply that is currently available. That way, you can supplement the day trade in the most effective possible way by performing rapid searches and submitting orders immediately.

Follow-up

In the coming weeks, we will keep you up to date about developments regarding the Explorer.
