Over the past few weeks, our Floriday-experts have been conducting physical workshops in Kenya. In Nanyuki, 16 participants representing 9 farms were in attendance. In Naivasha, 37 participants representing 25 farms were in attendance. The aim of the workshops was to demonstrate how Floriday helps to work faster, more efficiently and more clearly. The sessions and support are part of our international ambition: a single digital platform that connects and strengthens the floriculture sector worldwide. In addition to insights, the growers shared valuable feedback to further improve the platform.

The responses from growers were positive. Kennedy Kiarie, Customer Account Manager at Marginpar Kenya adds: ‘When we use the platform to its full potential, it enables us to serve more customers and work more efficiently.’ Sonia Kemei, Sales and marketing manager at Flora Ola Ltd, says: ‘Floriday is user-friendly and efficiently connects growers and buyers.’ After gaining these insights, the growers indicated that they wanted to apply their new knowledge directly to their sales strategy in order to get even more out of Floriday.

New insights from the workshops
The workshops were very informative and aimed not only to demonstrate new functionalities, but also to strengthen confidence in the platform. Participants received explanations on setting delivery terms, organising price groups, and gaining a better overview of their orders. The various ways of publishing offers were also discussed, including drawing up continuous contracts with buyers and the possibility of communicating more quickly via Floriday Messenger. In addition, several recently developed functionalities that support international trade were demonstrated, such as full support for the US dollar and the use of order requests. Afterwards, participants gave themselves a score of 8 or 9 on a scale of confidence in using Floriday, which shows that the sessions provided them with concrete tools to make better use of the platform.

Floriday as a global platform
The workshops in Kenya are an important step in our broader ambition to grow Floriday into the leading international digital platform for the floriculture sector. For Kenyan growers, this also means that they can continue to expand their direct international trade, including to customers outside Europe, like the Middle East market. By connecting international growers and buyers, a single central marketplace is created where supply and demand meet. This not only increases sales opportunities for growers, but also makes it easier for buyers around the world to purchase a wide and reliable assortment of flowers and plants.
