Kokoplant: 'The CheckUp showed new things we had not yet looked at'

More and more Floriday users are requesting a CheckUp. In this three-part series, we ask users about their experiences. In this third part, we talk to Kimmy de Lijster, who works in the sales back office at Kokoplant from Poeldijk. We ask Kimmy about her experiences with the CheckUp on the basis of five questions.

Can you tell something about your company?

“Kokoplant is a business enterprise started by René van Kester and Monique Ouwerling. The company began with coconut fences and later made the transition to plants which were grown on coconut canes. In 2015, we transferred completely to the concept of Kokodama. Kokodamas are spheres and pots made from coconut fibre, free from plastic and 100% biodegradable. The Kokodama spheres and pots are made by hand in Sri Lanka. With every Kokodama that is sold, a part of the proceeds goes back to the local economy of Sri Lanka where it is spent on better schooling for children for instance. We fill all the Kokodamas with various types of special plants which we buy from various growers."

How do you trade?

“We work with various buyer groups from retail to concept stores. In the retail - such as supermarkets and construction markets - also the segment of gardening centres and florists, it is about both daily trade and campaign purchases. These are often regular buyers, but we also have new customers who buy via the clock. Many of our products end up abroad, usually via the Dutch exporters to whom we supply. We use Floriday to highlight our whole range. This ensures visibility, since many of our customers use Floriday. In addtion, the systems with which we work are linked to Floriday. As well as sales, we also buy the plants with which we fill the Kokodamas via Floriday."

What was the reason for requesting a CheckUp?

"We already use Floriday very fully, at the same time we still had a lot of questions. Especially about what our extra possibilities are in Floriday. For instance, about the use of purchasing tips and special offers. And whether it is interesting for us to work with batch prices for instance. We then thought a CheckUp like that would be useful. So we made an appointment so that we could go through our questions with a specialist."

What was your experience of the CheckUp?

"For the CheckUp, Floriday expert Joery paid a visit. That was good. Joery took plenty of time and we were able to ask all our questions. For instance, we discussed how we can make price mutations - which are only known afterwards - for customers who order via Floriday. But Joery also showed us  the possibilities of customer-specific loads, working with availability figures and the possibility of highlighting a product in the marketing segment. All new things which we had not yet looked at. Meanwhile Joery kept giving tips, so we experienced his visit as very useful. So we agreed to also do the same CheckUp soon for the purchase screens. Of course, we buy the plants that we use and we also want to start doing this more via Floriday."

What do you want to pass on to other users?

"With regard to user-friendliness, Floriday is becoming better and better, so that is a good reason to start using Floriday. Now one group of users is on FloraXchange and another group on Floriday. I would like to see that we start working on one platform as much as possible. I would advise here a 'step-over to Floriday if it is possible'. Working on one platform, where you can change everything is just much better. And if you want more help and an explanation, then just also request a CheckUp ”.
