Group of leading flower growers is taking the lead in migrating connections to Floriday

A group of leading flower growers is taking the lead in the continued digitisation of the floriculture sector. The leading group of flower growers has jointly decided to play an active role in migrating  existing direct virtual marketplace (VMP) connections to Floriday[BB1] . From 23 September, a large group of buyers will begin the migration, meaning that from then on, electronic trading will happen via Floriday. 

 This step marks the growers’ conscious move towards a single, shared, future-proof way of working. This change means that many connections will no longer run over different routes, but can be managed centrally via Floriday for both growers and buyers. This makes the electronic trading process simpler, more transparent and easier to manage for all parties involved. 

Benefits for growers as well as buyers

For growers and buyers, this means that all connections will ultimately be managed through a single, central platform. This gives much greater control over settings and changes. This also ensures better standardisation of all the information you exchange, which in turn enables you to improve your own processes. Finally, it is still possible to set up a personal connection between growers and buyers. We aim to have the migration completed for the first group of buyers no later than 1 December.

Hence why we, together with several growers, are now taking the step to start working this way, via Floriday.”

Moving forward together

What sets this approach apart is that it is driven by the growers themselves. Buyers are kept informed at each stage by the growers, and are asked to actively switch their VMP connection. To ensure a smooth transition, both growers and buyers will get support from Floriday. In doing so, we are taking a joint step towards a single digital standard for the sector.

The group of flower growers behind this initiative consists of representatives from the following companies: Arcadia, Borst Bloembollen, Holstein Flowers, Moerman Lilium, Jac. Oudijk, Vicini Nursery, Together2Grow, Unicum Freesia and Zentoo. Together, these growers are leading the way in the wider adoption of Floriday within the floriculture sector.
