In previous news articles, we explained how Plantform growers, buyers and Floriday are working together to establish a standardised labelling process. The aim: to make sticker information for orders available more quickly, more clearly and more reliably. Good news: the feature has now been implemented in Floriday, and support via the API will be available in the planned market release in November.
Now that these steps have been taken, the focus shifts to preparing for practical implementation. This will enable buyers, growers and software suppliers to prepare for a process in which sticker files are more effectively linked to orders and become available for processing more quickly.
What exactly is going to change in the sticker process?
The additional service Sticker must be added by the buyer within 5 minutes of placing the order, i.e. before the order is ‘committed’ (finally confirmed). For orders that include the ‘Sticker’ add-on service, growers can specify, for each buyer, when the sticker information must be supplied. There are two options:
- Submit the sticker PDF within 5 minutes before the order is committed: this is the preferred method, as it ensures the grower has the correct information immediately. This allows the logistics process to run more efficiently.
- Submit the sticker details no later than the final order deadline: this option allows for situations where more preparation time is required, for example in forward trading.
From version 2026V2 onwards, software package integrations will be validated to ensure that the sticker information has been included. If the sticker PDF is missing or if the ‘Sticker’ additional service needs to be added at a later date, this can be done by submitting a correction request for the order. The grower always assesses these requests and decides whether the sticker can still be added and processed. Requests to correct stickers via the API will be available in the 2026V2 release in November. Until then, a standalone sticker PDF can still be shared via email or in accordance with existing arrangements.
Preparing for the next step
The functional and technical documentation will be further developed and shared well in advance before the go-live. This documentation describes the endpoints that need to be added. This gives buyers, growers and software suppliers plenty of time to prepare their systems and processes.
With this development, we are working together to reduce the need for manual coordination, ensure greater clarity regarding orders and speed up the availability of sticker information. We therefore advise all buyers, growers and software suppliers to start looking into what this means for their systems, interfaces and internal working practices.
