More and more growers are offering their goods through Floriday Daytrade. With Daytrade, growers put their supply on the market early in the day. Small orders that growers would otherwise have to deliver themselves are now cleverly combined with auction supply to fill the trolleys heading to Royal FloraHolland's logistics hubs.

By now, more than 100,000 transactions have been realised via Daytrade, and more than a hundred growers are active weekly. The assortment continues to expand, both within flowers and plants. It is also becoming increasingly attractive to buyers: a wider assortment is available, it enters the market earlier in the day and there are more options regarding delivery times.

“Make supplies available earlier”

In practice, growers find that Daytrade helps them sell faster and more efficiently. By making a commercial estimate of stock early in the day, small order requests can be more easily combined with auction supplies and less time is lost on separate delivery orders.

Ilse Vink from Miss Alstroemeria:” The speed with which you make your supply visible and sell it is really a big benefit. We find that small buyers can more easily order small quantities, which in turn creates new sales opportunities. Order requests that we could not deliver before, we can now send off to Royal FloraHolland on one trolley, and we deliver from our stock location at the hub. This logistical relief is very nice! In addition, we are offering buyers even greater speed of delivery, which was not previously the case with clock pre-sales”.

“Flexibility in procurement”

Buyers also see the benefits. Having supply available earlier creates more flexibility in procurement. “For us, Daytrade enhances our product supply,” says Machiel from Korbitex enthusiastically. We are seeing new products within the KVV range that we otherwise would not be able to offer to our customers. End customers, in particular, appreciate this: they increasingly have a need for novelties and more exclusive products that are not available everywhere.”

Personal guidance

Guiding growers to start Daytrade is deliberately done step by step. It is a different way of working for many growers, with sales strategy and logistics coming together differently. Growers can still sign up for Daytrade, after which they will be personally guided by Floriday's implementation consultants. After registration, you will be contacted within two weeks for a brief intake. This includes discussing, among other things, whether the grower can already offer the product, and the grower is guided in supplying Daytrade.

Expansion order picking in Aalsmeer

An important step to enable more growers to offer products via Daytrade is the expansion of order picking in Aalsmeer. This will be further expanded for more product groups next autumn. As a result, Daytrade will become available to more and more growers who are currently still waiting for it.

Working from the software package

More and more software suppliers are actively developing Daytrade functionality within their packages. Growers who prefer to work from their own software package can eventually take advantage of this. Then it becomes possible to use Daytrade directly from your own system, without any extra actions in Floriday. Contact your software supplier for the latest developments or check our information page.
