For about a decade now, consumers have had more options for buying flowers and plants online. This has changed the chain and demands different things from exporters and growers. In 2017, we started building Floriday to properly connect the old and new worlds. Where are we now? Watch the video with Martin.

Martin de Ruiter, Floriday commercial manager: "Digitisation has been a road with highs and lows. It is a project in which business processes are changing, for both growers and buyers. We found a way to shape this well together with the industry. We get a lot of input from growers and buyers as to what they expect from Floriday, features they would like to see in it. And we found a way with software vendors to be able to do reliable releases so that they can also connect well to Floriday with their packages. With the new standards we are now introducing, such as the API, we are laying a foundation for continuing to do business well and efficiently with each other in the future."

Various trade opportunities

"With Floriday, we have established a high-quality digital platform for the global floriculture industry. Here, growers and buyers find each other with various trade opportunities. Be it clock, clock presale, direct trade or contract trade. The more than 5,000 growers and buyers dwho have embraced Floriday, work in the screens or have implemented a link to Floriday with their software supplier, are experiencing more efficiency, fewer errors and corrections. And that leaves time for the real conversation about trade."

Future prospects

"In the future, we will continue to focus Floriday on simplifying processes and increasing market opportunities for growers and buyers. And together with growers, buyers and software vendors, we are building that new digital infrastructure for the global floriculture industry."
