Bas is Product Owner and keeps busy every day developing new features in Floriday. At the beginning of this year, we looked forward to 2023 with him. Over the past six months, several improvements and new features have been worked on in Floriday's screens and the link. We look back again with Bas and look ahead to the next six months.

Availability in case of scarcity

Bas: "We recently worked on the 'Stock Planning' feature. This feature enables growers to manage their supply in a sophisticated way. Stock Planning works together with Catalog Prices and is currently mainly used by plant growers who have many different stock items that are offered in multiple items. For example plants used in multiple combinations. With the help of inventory planning, growers can fine-tune their supply. Handy in times of scarcity. It also helps you keep an overview if you offer items in multiple combinations." Soon anyone can use this feature.

Clock pre sales in the Floriday Explorer

Another key feature Bas announced early this year is the Clock pre-sale offer in Explorer. This offer is now available through Floriday's screens and API link with software packages. Bas: "With the Clock presale offer in the Explorer, we are working towards one place to manage and buy the total range. You can easily filter for this in the Explorer search results."

Bundled offers

We also introduced the 'Bundled offers' feature. Bas: "These Mix Bundles allow growers to offer a bundle of items such as a mix cart or a mix layer, for example. For many growers with different products, this is an interesting new opportunity in Floriday."

Improved interaction opportunities and information sharing

In addition to these recent developments, several new features have also been explored. For example, we looked at interaction on the platform. Bas: "Discussions with growers and buyers revealed that there is a lot of communication about components in Floriday and thus a lot of referrals are made. In fact, this is a shame because mistakes are easily made this way. In the coming period, we will be working to further improve interaction and information sharing at Floriday."

Facilitating sustainability regulations

Floriday is also exploring the role it can play in the ever-increasing demand for sustainability information. Bas: "Consumer and retailer demand for sustainably produced products is increasing. A standard methodology, such as life-cycle or environmental footprint analysis, is being researched by the European Commission. We can facilitate the exchange of this information through Floriday. This is what the 'digital highway' is for."

Minimum delivery quantity

To better control the minimum delivery quantity, a number of developments have been made. Bas: "The Explorer now clearly shows what the minimum order size is, so that you as a buyer can easily reorder. Soon, orders will only be confirmed once the buyer meets the minimum delivery quantity. However, growers can choose to still accept orders that do not meet these requirements. This prevents growers from receiving (excessively) small orders. Buyers no longer need to save up orders to meet the minimum delivery quantity. This ensures that they work with real-time information and prices and availability are always correct."

Moving towards real-time pricing

"A common desire from plant growers is to move towards real-time pricing to respond to current market conditions. There are also benefits for buyers. For them, security of supply is important. This can be guaranteed by working with available numbers combined with real-time pricing."

We are currently surveying growers and buyers how this should work for them. Would you also like to participate in the plans on how to move towards real-time pricing? Register with support.

International

We do not stop at the border of the Netherlands. Bas: "At the IFTEX fair in Kenya we saw that growers and buyers there also want to use Floriday more and more. We want to make a number of improvements, providing the right opportunities for this target group as well. For example, the dollar will be applied more broadly within Floriday, and soon you will be able to search better for offers available in a particular country."

Making users happy

Bas: "Over the next six months, we want to make many users happy again with new developments. In August and December, we will organise another Wish Week. Here, we look at how we can make as many users as possible happy with wishes that do not fit directly into the major themes of development planning. So here's another call: do you have a wish you'd like to add to Floriday? Make sure it is on the roadmap and has received enough votes."

Growers and buyers working in their own software package and using a link with Floriday will also benefit from the enhancements. Consult the software vendor overview for growers or for buyers which functions are supported by your software. Is the relevant function not listed? Ask your software vendor about the options.
